Baxter.

Covers his early days in Otago to his final years in a remote community on the Wanganui River. Baxter's life was in many ways a chronicle of his times -- marriage and suburbia in the 1950s, a struggle with religious belief, and then, in the 1960s, the search for a fulfilling life.

Throughout it all there was the poetry -- acclaimed from the beginning and celebrated long after his death in 1972, at the age of forty-six. From his first verse written at seven and his first book published when he was eighteen, he was responsible for a remarkable collection of poetry, plays and prose.

Illustrated throughout with monochrome images and drawings.

CONDITION
Immaculate with only light shelf wear on covers and page edges.

IMAGES
Are of the actual item and depict all need to know detail.

REMARKS
Increasingly scarce
See our other listings on the subject.
