ABOUT
The autobiography of Norman Harris from his early sporting days to his associations with Halberg, Lydiard, Snell and his job as a sports reporter with the NZ Herald.
The title reflects Harris’s own realization that he lacked the elite physical prowess to challenge great champions. Instead, he turned his focus to self-challenge, chronicling his personal athletic endeavors—such as competing in a 1960 marathon and a 1961 road cycling race—and his ultimate pivot to sports journalism.3
A fascinating insight into running and of achieving greatness by one's own standards and a must for devotees of Halberg and Lydiard.
