This is the most comprehensive catalogue of his works that exists by Muriel Williams, grand-daughter of Blomfield, has made extensive use of letters, journals and contemporary accounts of the artist.
Charles Blomfield is remembered chiefly for his paintings of the Pink and White Terraces before they were destroyed by the eruption of Mount Tarawera.
He was also an avid explorer, and travelled the length and breadth of New Zealand. He has left many beautiful paintings and sketches of the wild New Zealand landscape as he found it in the span of more than sixty years 1862 to 1926.
Includes numerous monochrome and colour illustrations and map.
