ABOUT
A New Zealander's experiences in the Resistance Movements in Greece and France.
Here for the first time is the personal story of a hero of the Second World War whose bravery has become a legend in his own Country.
"Major Bill" Jordan, a New Zealander on loan to the British Army "for special purposes", parachuted into Greece in December 1942. There he played an important part in organising a Resistance movement which faced two separate enemies. Besides harassing the German and Italian forces of Occupation, Jordan and his guerillas also consistently opposed the Communist guerilla forces, whose aim was not to defeat the Axis powers but to prepare for a Communist takeover after the war.
Maps on end papers, monochrome portrait on title page.
