The story of New Zealand soldiers that were stationed in Egypt after the first Libyan campaign in 1940-41.
Hitler had ordered the occupation of Greece and were breaking through. The kiwis were ferried across and lasted 14 days before evacuation, a doomed campaign, 261 dead, 387 wounded and 1856 prisoner. Fred Woollams evaded capture at Corinth and lived for months in the mountains and countryside of Greece.
