ABOUT
The experiences of the author who during WW2 flew aircraft to wherever they were needed.
At the outbreak of WW2, the author was an amateur pilot too old for operational flying with the armed forces and with too few hours solo to meet the entry requirements for the Air Transport Auxiliary.
After the Battle of Britain pilots were so badly needed the entry qualifications were reduced, his application was accepted and after some basic training he spent the next four and a half years flying every type of operational aircraft (except flying boats), from Hurricanes and Harvards to Lancasters and Liberators, to wherever they were needed by the Royal Air Force.
