ABOUT
A controversial semi-fictionalised biography written by the prominent, firebrand New Zealand socialist politician and author John A. Lee.
The book is a scurrilous "tell-all" expose detailing the corrupt ties between the early New Zealand Labour Party and the liquor industry.
The book centers entirely on the life and influence of Sir Ernest Davis—an affluent Auckland liquor baron, mayor, philanthropist, and leading financial backer of the Labour Party. Lee thinly veils Davis under the mocking pseudonym "Sir Ernest Booze".
