ABOUT
Acclimatisation societies throughout New Zealand have played a vital role in the management of both fish and game for sporting purposes and the protection of native species.
This movement has had a important function in the development of New Zealand as a renowned freshwater fishing destination, through its system of trout hatcheries, the same applies to game birds, notably duck and pheasant.
The Hawke's Bay branch was in the forefront on these activities and its centenary history records its fine record in a fine publication.
