The history of the founding, physical relocation, and educational legacy of what is today known as St John's Theological College.
Founded originally in 1843 at Te Waimate mission by New Zealand's first Anglican bishop, George Augustus Selwyn, the college was permanently established at its hilltop site in Meadowbank (West Tamaki), Auckland, in 1846.
Davis's 1911 record tracks the institution through its 19th-century iterations, including its split identity as both a theological seminary for ordinands and a prominent boys' collegiate school.
Illustrated throughout with monochrome fine line drawings.
