ABOUT
A fascinating account of the conditions endured by immigrants sailing to New Zealand in the 1840s.
The events and challenges are described through the eyes of a 13 year old girl. The character of Jessie Jenkin is fictional. But the ship on which she sailed - the Lord Auckland - did in fact carry many English immigrant families on their search for a new life in New Zealand, and the events described in this diary all occurred during the voyage of 1841-42.
Illustrated throughout with monochrome illustrations. Decorated end papers.
CONDITION
Excellent with light handling wear. Images depict all need to know detail.
