The regimental battle honours of this gallant little body of men-never numbering more than five thousand-include Norway, Sicily, Normandy, the South of France, Arnhem and the Rhine-every major campaign of the European theatre; and the regiment saw active service in Yugoslavia and Greece, Italy and Burma.
