ABOUT
The Lorraine Squadron was made up of Frenchmen from around the world. From its inception at Fort Lamy, Equatorial Africa they began operations from Khartoum with RAF supplied Blenheim bombers.
They flew 400 mile sorties over the Abyssinian mountains to bomb Italian concentrations. Later they turned to continuous attacks on the Nazi fortress of Halfaya. Eventually they moved to England operating from Hartford bombing V1 launching sites, pounding German communications and laying the smoke screen which protected the US Navy on D-Day. Finally they hounded Hitler's panzers in their own homeland.
