This is the full biography of the legendary Air Vice-Marshal Donald Bennett, who first served in the Royal Australian Airforce.
At 26 he became the youngest R.A.F. Captain to fly the largest Civil Aircraft at the time for Imperial Airways. At the age of 32, Don Bennett was made an Air Vice-Marshal and in charge of the Pathfinder Force by 'Bomber' Harris. He also broke the world long distance record for Seaplanes in 1938 and organised the ferrying of desperately needed American Aircraft across the Atlantic in winter against all odds in the Second World War.
A compelling read and an insight to a controversial man who was rarely understood by his colleagues or those who were part of his team.
