ABOUT
Outlines the infrastructural development and electrification of the greater Auckland region north of the Waitemata Harbour.
It chronicles the birth of the Board in 1925, detailing the physical challenges of erecting transmission lines across difficult terrain, expanding depots (such as the early Henderson site), and marching electricity grids northward through Rodney and Northland.
The text acts as a vital corporate and social record, mapping out how the expanding grid transformed early rural communities into developing suburbs through the mid-20th century.
Well illustrated with monochrome and colour images.
