ABOUT
The influence of Sir Robert Stout on the development of New Zealand began in the pioneering days and lasted till modern times. He arrived in Dunedin in 1864, and died in Wellington in 1930, having been Premier, Chief Justice, and Chancellor of the University.
An indefatigable worker, Stout wrote and spoke continually on political, social, legal and educational subjects. The authors of this book have critically examined the multifarious aspects of his work and character, and offer an unbiased picture of a man whose life was interwoven with New Zealand history.
Illustrated throughout with monochrome images.
