ABOUT
History of the Short Sunderland that epitomised RAF Coastal Command during the 1939-45 war.
From 1912 until 1959 flying boats were a relatively small but vital section of the British flying service. During those years over 100 different types of flying boat were designed for RAF use.
From the first day of hostilities until final victory Sunderlands served long, well and splendidly; guarding merchant shipping lifelines to the United Kingdom, seeking out and destroying U-boats, acting as mercy vehicles, supply and communications craft, evacuating sorely-pressed troops from near-impossible situations.
Illustrated throughout with monochrome images.
CONDITION
Excellent with only light wear/spine fading on dust jacket, faint marks on end papers, otherwise clean. Images depict all need to know detail.
