The Dassault Super Etendard sprang into world prominence during the Anglo-Argentinian conflict for the Falkland Islands in 1982.
Revealing with devastating effect what could be achieved by an advanced naval strike fighter armed with sea-skimming anti-ship missiles. The Super Etendard used in that campaign is only the latest development in a long line that started with a lightweight strike fighter to meet a NATO requirement.
This failed to materialise, but the French pressed ahead with the development and in the Super Etendard have succeeded in evolving a transonic multi-role fighter for their small but effective naval air arm.
Illustrated throughout with monochrome and colour images, fine line drawings, including on end papers.
CONDITION
Excellent with light wear/marks on covers, faint marks on title page, no stamps or inscriptions. Images depict all need to know detail.
