ABOUT
A legendary short novel written by the celebrated American author Ernest Hemingway.
The story follows Santiago, an aging, impoverished Cuban fisherman who has gone 84 days without catching a fish. On the 85th day, he sails far out into the Gulf Stream and hooks a giant marlin. What follows is an agonizing, three-day physical and mental battle out at sea, testing the old man's endurance, pride, and spirit against the powerful fish and relentless sharks.
It serves as a profound allegory exploring human dignity, perseverance, old age, and the triumph of the spirit in the face of absolute defeat.
Illustrated with monochrome fine line drawn illustrations by C.F. Tunnicliffe and Raymond Sheppard.
