ABOUT
It has been claimed that Richard Pearse, a South Canterbury farmer, actually flew before the Wright Bros in the US. This has not been verified by records, pictures or eye-witnesses. A self- taught engineering genius who built engines for his 'flying machines'.
Controversy has always surrounded his 'flights'. Pearse was reclusive and made no positive claim to being 'the first' and continued his inventive ways almost until his death in 1953.
Illustrated with monochrome images and drawings, maps on end papers.
CONDITION
Excellent with only light wear/spine fade on dust jacket, otherwise near new. Images depict all need to know detail.
