The story of the salvage tug Turmoil involved in many deep-sea tows and rescue jobs from the end of World War Two until she was broken up in 1986.
Among her many famous missions were the attempted rescue of the American freighter Flying Enterprise in 1951-1952 and the Homeric rescue of half of the tanker World Concord in the Irish Sea. The book also touches on the work of other famous deep-sea tugs, and the gallant seamen who work on them.
