Founded in 1875, Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand Limited was New Zealand's premier shipping company, offering vital inter-island ferry services and trans-Tasman trade routes with a rich history.
It was the biggest shipping line in the southern hemisphere and New Zealand's largest private-sector employer. It was incorporated by James Mills in Dunedin in 1875 with the backing of a Scottish shipbuilder, Peter Denny.
Includes a report of a dinner held at Wellington on the 15th May 1925, to celebrate the Company's Jubilee.
Includes monochrome photographs of staff and ships.
CONDITION
