ABOUT
A brief illustrated history of the Waiapu Cathedral in Napier.
This fascinating history has been written by the Reverend W. M. Edmunds, Vicar of Wairoa, New Zealand. The first parish church was built in 1862, and the brick cathedral was built in 1886, and consecrated two years later. It was completely destroyed by the 1931 earthquake. For more than 25 years a "temporary" wooden building served as the cathedral of the diocese.
Illustrated throughout with monochrome images.
