About

From the day when he had his first flight in the mid 1950's in an Auster aeroplane, spraying noxious weeds on a back-country New Zealand farm, Roger Crow was determined to be an agricultural pilot. Row worked in the South Island in remote alpine valleys, on dusty plains and green farmlands. He brings scenes and people vividly to life, catching the humour and drama of those days. After 11 years he went to Southern Africa where, for two years, he worked in a very different environment in Rhodesia, Mozambique and Angola.

Roger Crow died in 2012. This is his story, when aerial topdressing was still an infant industry and a hazardous occupation.

Includes monochrome images.
